A Cub after My Own Heart...

So, I was taking pics of my now 28 weeks old cub, (been torturing him weekly since birth :oP) when cub3 gets the idea, he wants to take some pics too. I couldn't help but snap a shot. (I did a midnight sepia conversion on it, I kinda like it!) Whatcha think??? I suppose I shoulda posted the color version too. Here I'll do that in a sec.

I did a black and white conversion on it, but it looked to newspaperish. I can't get his skin tone to look good with that conversion. Anyway, that's a whole other story.

My sister was nice enough to watch cubs1-3 while we went out for a movie lastnight. Hey, and it wasn't a drive-in either. We walked right in and watch 40 year old virgin with cub4 LOL. What a time for that kiddo to decide he wants to "talk." He was doing lots of babbles lastnight. I thought for sure we were screwed and would have to leave. Fortunately, he fell right asleep after the movie started and slept through the entire movie!!! That movie was just hilarious. I know I've heard a lot of complaints how it's not something to be made fun of and such, but I think overall they handled it all so sadly realistic it wasn't really making fun at all. I don't know if that makes much sense, but I could seriously see how time would have just passed that poor guy and he just didn't do it, so to say. ;)

On Friday night, we went to the drive-in, last minute and saw Wedding Crashers again with Deuce Bigalow 2. Deuce was tons funnier than I thought it would be. I'm not saying I'd rush right out and see it or anything, but I'd watch it again if it were on HBO :P

On Saturday, we were busy with a car wash for cub2's cheerleading organization. I can honestly say it was more fun than I had anticipated. Hubby and I were both not looking forward to it, I ended up being the nominated one to go. He stayed home with the other cubs. I think we only had to wash no more than 10 cars, so it really was no biggie!

Cub1&2 start school next Wednesday and we are pretty well set for that. They are excited and I am actually really excited for them. They both do so well in school, and they both enjoy it so much. Don't get me wrong, I love having them at home, but it will be nice for them to be back on some sort of a schedule. We are not really big schedule people to begin with, so when they are home it is a bit chaotic and not a lot gets done. LOL

It is that time again. Exercise. I'm off to burn my butt off, as cub3 would say.

People can be so nice sometimes...

So we headed out to mail off my bad cf card. We had specific instructions.

  1. It had to be in an anti-static bag.
  2. It needed to be shipped in a box, not an envelope.
  3. It could not be packed with packing peanuts, newspaper or bubble wrap.
  4. It could be packed with foam rubber??
  5. It had to have a label with specific information they had emailed us.
  6. The box had to have a specific number written on it LARGE so it could be quicker.
  7. It had to have a tracking number or delivery confirmation.
  8. It couldn't be from a PO Box, had to have a physical addy.

So we set out on this mission to meet these 8 goals. Anti-static bag??? Okay, so I look it up and It's one of these Image hosted by Photobucket.com Hey that's cool and all, but where do you buy one of those??? I had one when it was shipped to me, but that's long gone. We take off to Walmart thinking hey maybe, just maybe. Nope, but the guy there said try G&S Computers downtown. Okay, but where is that??? I have lived outside if this town my entire life, but only know the basics (how to get to the post office, the bank, pizza hut, the school, and walmart) Nowhere in my database is G&S Computers.Image hosted by Photobucket.com So Walmart guy says they may just give you a bag, they are easy to come by for them. (#1 nice person of the day) Yeah I imagine so.

Anyhow we drive down the main street downtown, no store. Okay, try the next street, this is where all the bars seem to be. What do ya know! There it is!!!!!!! Hubby goes in and asks the lady at the counter, she smiles and shuffles a few things (I can see through the window) TADA!!!! We're in business! It's a used one, but she gives it to him FREE!!!!! Hubby tells her thanks and she's awesome. She grins. (#2 nice person of the day)

Next, find a box... ugh come back to that later, we need to see how big this box needs to be considering the restrictions on packing peanuts and such. So Foam Rubber. Who has that and sells that? Nope not Walmart. Try the UPS store across the street. Nope. She suggests Radio Shack next door. (#3 nice person of the day) Radio shack guy says nope, they don't have any laying around, but aren't surprised the lady at ups store sent him over, they always bum that stuff off of them. He suggests the other mailing center downtown. (#4 nice person of the day)

We go and find the mailing center, which is just doors down from the computer store. The lady in there grabbed some foam stuff she had laying around and wrapped it up and taped it as well. Money refused again. (#5 nice person of the day) Now to find a box. We're off to the post office. I've already got the label printed out from home. Hubby brings out a box, a tiny one. We need this big wad of foam to fit in that??? So I take the foam apart, use the excess tape to tape the label on and we're in business. I then write in HUGE letters the given number on the label, for quicker processing. Image hosted by Photobucket.com Only two more. Delivery confirmation ~ check and no PO BOX ~ check, that's the only one that scares me, our mail gets lost if we use the physical addy, but I'm hoping they ship it fedex or ups!

So there for less than $5 to ship and 5 nice people in a day later, it's on its way. As far as I see nice people just don't come around often enough these days. It was quite a pleasant experience all in all. It's just a nice change to see people helping people instead of all the grumbling about their days, rotting in their little portions of the earth. How often do you see nice people? Or am I just in a very angry, annoyed part of the country?

Hip, Hip, Hooray!!!!!!!

Hubby just called on the CF Card and it is still under warranty!!!!!! We have to send it back and they'll ship us a new one! *big sigh of relief inserted here*

Yesterday was sooooooo much fun. I can't say I have much in the line of pics, because I got in the wave pool with the cubs too. It's not exactly a bright idea to leave thousands of dollars of cameras and equipment sitting on the sidelines while you play in the pool. So the camera sat out this trip, in the car. Cub3&4 loved the water, splashing around and laughing. Hubby and I switched cubs while out there, so we both got time with both of them. Cub4 is a little buoy I swear. He just floats LOL with all those chubs though, I shouldn't be surprised! Cub1&2 are just fish in the water, so we didn't have to worry much about them.

We stopped off and ate at my sister's fave restaurant since we were in the area. Jasmine Mongolian Grill... yum. I usually don't like it as much as I did yesterday. The selection of vegetables is just awesome, but their sauces leave a lot to be desired. Yesterday was a different story though. They changed their sauces and YOWZA~ it seriously rivaled my fave restaurant, Chang's Mongolian Grill.

On the way home, I was asked a simple enough question by Cub1. I honestly did not know the answer to. I love those ones!!! Can earwigs fly? I was seriously grossed out by the thought of it, but was a little amused by the thought. I love it when my cubs come up with questions I don't know. I am completely honest when I don't know, but for some odd reason, hubby usually knows *rolleyes* This guy reads too much~ haha.

Anyway, he didn't know this one either. Wow, cool she stumped us. So of course we ask her why she's asking. She tells us she was looking in our pool at home, which we forgot to put the cover on, oops, and there was an earwig in the water. She wanted to know how it could get in there. Hubby then comes up with this, "he must have climbed the outside wall of the pool and then down and fell in." LOL what a thought and what a terrible way to go.

After looking, I found this. earwig write up They rarely fly. They are hitchhikers. It still grosses me out, but now it's got me wondering, is he still in the pool?

Well, I guess it was inevitable...

My CF Card is fried in my cam...

that's the bad news. The good news is I had a backup, but it's small *LOL* I'm going from 4gb to 256mb on my backup camera though. So yes, I still have a 4gb card, but my other one fried?!?! I'm so confused. Anyhow, on my 256 card, there were a bunch of old pics. This is one of them. Apparently, hubby took cub3 to the ocean on some business while I was working last spring, I'm guessing?? He took a few shots of him running about and such. That was such a pleasant surprise to see pictures of him younger and having such fun. *sigh* He's growing so quickly. I'll see if I can add one more pic on here, I'm still not sure how to work this thing.

Hey!!! Looks like it worked!!!! Nothing like realizing how little we all are and how large the rest of the world is. Look how teeny he looks running on the beach. Awwwww!

Well, back to what's the happenings. We'll be headed off to Wild Waves tomorrow, water amusement park, I guess you'd call it. I love taking water pics, so let's see what kind of pics I can get. I'm really excited about that. Not sure if I'll get to "play" or not. My mom is going, so she'll be able to watch cub4 & my camera. So we'll see if I get the urge or not!

Cub2 went to cheer camp this weekend. She's really diggin' it. It was/is hubby's 33rd bday today! my oh my *LOL* Cub2 baked a cake for him today and gosh darnit that reminds me... the pics are on the fried card!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UGH! Oh well, what can ya do?

I'm still an hour out from tonight's exercising. Maybe I should see if my brother will go early. hmmmm... idea!

Random Thoughts...

I ran into this lastnight. It kinda cracked me up, whether it's true or not, who know's? I think we'd be better off on LSD than anything else, that web looks pretty alright. Caffeine Study here Anyhow, I'm not knocking you if you are caffeinated, this was just brought to my attention by my night owl brother, who also happens to be an undiagnosed insomniac, who I might add is caffeinated *wink*

Other random thoughts going through this noggin this fine afternoon.
  • Our forks and spoons seem to disappear after company does.
  • Our socks seem to follow.
  • I'm really sick and tired of wedding pics.
  • Cub2 has cheerleading tonight
  • So does my lil sis, age 11
  • I'm going to wind up taking both of them.
  • I wonder how many days it is until the first day of school.
  • I hope Cub2 didn't lose her school supplies.
  • That's the risk buying them in July.
  • Cub4 is still doing great after shots.
  • The nurse said he's all caught up after his 12 months until K.
  • I'll have to check on that, it seems too good to be true.
  • I have a dental checkup Monday.
  • It also happens to be hubby's birthday.
  • He'll be 33.
  • I wish they could have had an opening any other day.
  • They are squeezing me in as it is, don't push it.
  • Besides, you'll have a sitter and you can catch a movie.
  • Or will I?
  • I hope they can stay with my mom
  • Again, I'll have to check on that.
  • & Final Thought... Cup O Noodles are not ideally eaten with a plastic spoon.

Well, she did it!

She's Hitched! It's been a long rough week. Her wedding wasn't as off the wall as she was planning. She did do the ball and chain, but waited until after the ceremony and before the cake. They were married in jean shorts and a jean skirt, take your guess who wore which. *wink*

Hubby and I were the official photographers of the wedding, I've been busy "proofing" pics like crazy. Overall, they turned out great, they are just taking a lot more editing than anticipated. I had this strange yellowish haze that showed on quite a few pics, totally fixable, but a total pain in the a$$! I attribute that to the dark, fake lighting they had at the casino, yes she was married in a casino banquet room. It was just getting to be too large of a wedding to host at her house. Anyhow, that's what I've been busy with.

I had to take cub4 in for his shots earlier today, he was quite the trooper. I can't get over how well he handled it, he's been pretty good about shots all along though, so it shouldn't be that big of a surprise. He weighs 24 lbs. 14 oz. now!!!! He's also 28 inches long. He's off the charts, but he always has been, so again, no big surprise there either. It's just amazing to see him grow.

I just helped cub2 make her own blog too, so if you get a chance check her out too. She'd appreciate the company!!! Cub2's Blog aka TheQueenBean

Dum-Dum-da-dum...

Wedding bells are ringing. My sister called yesterday to ask if I would be her maid of honor. No, I'm not being mean putting this pic next to this news. She is literally clipping one of these on instead of rings. Yes, I think it's funny, but appropriate?? Not quite sure. It is her wedding and her choice, but wow. Her boyfriend of 7 years is actually agreeing to it, as well as playing highway to hell as the wedding march. This oughta be quite interesting. Anyhow, on to other stuff. *LOL*

My birthday was GREAT!!! I didn't really want to go anywhere and "celebrate" this year, but when you have a 3 yr. old insisting on taking his mom to the zoo for her birthday, ya gotta oblige!!! I must say it was an awesome idea and we all had genuine fun. It was nice! First we went to my favorite Mongolian Grill restaurant, then off to the zoo.

My mom had a dinner for me at her house waiting at 7, so it worked out perfectly, since the zoo closed at 6. My dad owns his own seafood shop, so we actually wound up eating a ton of seafood, I know a lot of people aren't big fans of it, but I am, so yummmmmy!!!! I haven't had an actual birthday party in years, so this is new to me. My hubby usually kidnaps me and we spend a few days "celebrating," by doing, with lack of better wording, "tourist-y" things. (ie. Space Needle, EMP, trip to Victoria, BC., etc.) So this was really quite a change to spend some time with family this year.

Our celebration ended with cake and rainbow sherbert and the kiddos of our family (7 of them, age 3-13) singing over and over the song from Chevy's and placing the sombraro on my head. It was quite funny, and no I'm not sharing pics of that, they weren't flattering pics!! :oP Celebration resumed later that night when my brother (23) decided to gather my sis, my mom and I to take us to the local casino. I did poorly, good enough to continue playing for a bit, but nonetheless, walked out poorer than I was. I was smiling though, that's what counts!!

Next day (Aug7), still celebrating, my sis offered to watch all the cubs, including #4!!! Luckily, I had pumped enough, just in case someone had offered to sit for us. ;) So, off to dinner we go. We went to one of those Japanese restaurants where they cook your food at your table~YUM~ It's been ages since hubby and I had been alone together. Before cub4 we "dated" almost bi-weekly, since cub4 was born in Feb. it's slowed waaaaaaaay down. It'll be nice to date him again, afterall he is a great guy!

We got a call saying, cub4 was wanting his mom NOW! So, no movie. No biggie, our backup plan was to take the cubs with us to the drive-in. Wedding Crashers and Mr. & Mrs. Smith were playing together, both of which we hadn't seen. One quick swoop to pick up the cubs and off to the drive-in we go!!!

Tiring weekend, so I just woke up. I'm off to do something productive, or at least try!

Which part of the hill...

is 30? Image hosted by Photobucket.com

You say it's your birthday

It's my birthday too~~yeah...Image hosted by Photobucket.com

It's official...Image hosted by Photobucket.com Of course, it is just a number, no big deal, but today is the day. What do I want to do? Absolutely nothing. That is a total first for me. We usually do lots of different things on my birthday, this is the first year I feel like just kickin' it at home. Will that happen though? Who knows.

All my lil cubs are just excited as can be, you gotta love that. Image hosted by Photobucket.com It's simply amazing to me, there are now 4 of them. Last year this time there were only 3. Our 4th has fit into our lives so well. Hubby and I were talking about that earlier today. He is just such a happy and curious baby and just plain fun to be around. Our 3rd cub just adores him and the feelings are so obviously mutual. It is going to be something worth watching, those two growing up together.

I can't help but think this is the official birthday, where I am an adult. I really don't feel all that

"grown-up." I wonder sometimes whether that is going to happen or not. Who knows, maybe I'll be that 80 year old granny sitting there with my grandkids playing the latest video games, listening to the latest music, or watching the newest cartoon craze. One could only hope.Image hosted by Photobucket.com

When I was little, I must have been like no more than 2, my mom used to read this book to me, it was called Baby's Birthday. I used to make her read that to me soooooooo many times, I memorized it. It starts out with, "Wake up baby, this is your special day. A birthday is filled with fun and surprises..." Anyhow, I thought it would be cool to buy the book and I looked high and low for it and finally found it on ebay. I mean, I looked for years. I thought it would be cool to have and read to the cubs a few times, but mainly just to have. I remember the pictures so well, it's insane.

Back to the subject, I found it and it was in Australia Ebay. I literally was just grinning ear to ear when I found it, and then when it came in, I read it to myself and it was so familiar it was scary. I told my mom about it and she about bawled, not because I remembered or anything, but because I bought it. She also found it on ebay, a mint copy out of canada. She was going to give it to me for my 30th birthday. So that is what I get from my mommy today. It's kinda cool.

So yes, she told me about it in advance, but I'm glad she did, or I'd be bawling like a baby, when opening it.Image hosted by Photobucket.com It does give me a little hope that my children will remember just a few of the special things we do as a family, or little things I do with them, the crazy songs we sing, the silly dances, the goofy books we read, the games we play, the laughs we share.

The cycle of life is an amazing thing, I'm just glad I have the cubs I do, and the hubby I do to share this wonderous trip with. I feel more than blessed.Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Well out for the night, hubby awaitsImage hosted by Photobucket.com

Btw~ go ahead and have a piece of cake!!! It's delish!!

Your Birthdate: August 6

A birthday on the 6th of the month adds a tone of responsibility, helpfulness, and understanding to your natural inclinations.

Those born on the sixth are more apt to be open and honest with everyone, and more caring about family and friends, too.

This is a number associated with responsibility and caring - this birthday lends a degree of concern for others.

It's 10 o'clock, do you know where your children are?

After a quick run to the border, due to no time for cooking tonight, here I sit. I figured I better update. The dentist was able to put sealant on cub3's teeth. Overall, it went pretty well. The girls had their teeth clean, they go in for sealants next week.

What I have been busy doing... getting our pc's online!!!! My old one is now internet ready and the laptop is too!!! It's not how I had hoped, but it works!!! (wired router over the wireless) No biggie though, at least we don't have to share pc time now. LOL

I've been doing more than awesome on my water intake and exercise. Woohoo!!! Speaking of, I have got to go visit my elliptical now, so I'm outta here for now :o)

Tip Me Over and Pour Me Out...

Ouch!!! Am I Wrong? Or would that hurt??? After looking around more on Wimp.com I ran in to this!!! You can see the video *here* I'd surely drown myself if I tried!!! Image hosted by Photobucket.com Curiosity got the best of me and I did go to the website at the end of that video, that's where I got that picture on the side there. Well I should get ready to head off for the dentist with the cubs. One other thing though, this had me Image hosted by Photobucket.com so I thought I'd post it *here*

I'm a Millionaire!!!!

Okay, so not really, but I won! Sad, sad, but true. Image hosted by Photobucket.com Only took me 2 tries but I have mastered Simpson's Trivia Image hosted by Photobucket.com My brother is to blame for showing me that site. It's got a lot of crazy stuff on it. Oh the time I will never get back!!!Image hosted by Photobucket.com

I have been busy bringing cub2 to cheerleading, the last couple of days. My lil sis (age11) also joined, so I've been busy with hers as well. It simply amazes me how different my children are turning out from each other. Cub1 is totally into sports and she honestly masters anything she plays. Cub2 is a total girly girl, so it didn't surprise me in the least she wanted to cheer. It's actually competition cheer, so they will be travelling about to compete?!? Image hosted by Photobucket.com I'm not sure how it all works, quite honestly. This oughta keep her busy for a bit though, it lasts right up until baseball season. Can't beat that!!! Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Hubby is off doing his workout now, I just got back from mine. I am doing awesome, if I do say so myself!!! Just stepped right back into my old routine and on top of that, I have been doing great on my water intake. Image hosted by Photobucket.com

One cool thing I found out today though, we have a farmer's market down the road now!!! YAY!!! Fresh, fresh fruits and veggies just minutes away!!!! (no special trip to town needed!) Hubby made up some really goooooood rice dish, with the veggies we bought there and the shrimp we bought, while at the ocean. That had to be the yummiest meal I have had in a long, long while. I only wish there were leftovers, I'd be heating some up right about now!!

I should head off of here, the cubs have dental checkups tomorrow. I truly hope cub3 comes through and lets her do what she's gotta do. I'm hoping having the girls go through it with him will make him think it's okay and let the "pretty" dentist do her job!! *crossfingers*

I'm off!!!!

Now the whole reason we went...

THE HATS!
3 of my cubs on the way home. Cub1 is just doing her best to make a serious face *LOL* she's honestly not that serious, quite the funny gal *see story below*. Party went well, we wound up having all the kiddos stay with us after the party, they are still here, so I haven't had much time for the pc.

*I absolutely love that girl though, she just cracks me up. Yesterday, she took off to go swimming at the Y with all her little buddies, sister included. Of course, she takes her underclothes and wears her swimsuit. Ya gotta get in that water as soon as possible, no wasting time, ya know? So she swims, has a good ole time. It comes time to get ready to go home. She goes to put her undies on and realizes, they aren't hers, she took her dad's undies for a trip to the Y. Image hosted by Photobucket.com I love how open she is though, I honestly can't say I would have admitted to that at her age, or any age for that matter. Image hosted by Photobucket.com She actually told her dad before me, now how open is that??? Image hosted by Photobucket.com

The router isn't working again. I can't stand that thing, so I'm hooked back to the wall again. No biggie, I guess, just a pain.

I've decided to kick up my water intake and my exercise. I've been only so-so since the fourth of july. So far, I've been doing really well the last couple of days, I'm not so much monitoring the food, just the water and exercise. I'm terrible at being that structured. Honestly, we eat pretty decent anyway when we eat at home, I think it's the restaurant eating that kills me!!!

Happy Birthday Baby Hoot...

It's my Baby Brother's Birthday!!! He's 13 today. It's simply amazing how the time flies.

My other Brother's came over, playing the Geek Squad and my router is now working again. My laptop is internet capable again. Woohoo!!

I have a little over an hour before I have to take off for the party (*see above) His party is at Chevy's Yum!!!
